From 2010 the price for transit of the Russian gas via Ukraine may increase by 65-70 percent, prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko said, opening the session of the Cabinet on Thursday.

“From January 1, the price for transit of Russia gas via Ukraine to Europe will increase…by 65-70 percent, depending on the oil price,” she said.

The premier also informed that Ukraine and Russia intend to provide stable and normal gas transit. “Both side agreed to provide normal transit without those traditional things on Christmas (gas cut off on January 1 – ed.),” Tymoshenko added.
