Ukraine must reform coal industry. Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said that today at the Cabinet session, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.
According to PM, Ukraine has never suffered from such accidents which happened in Zasyadko mine. He has noted that those happenings in Zasyadko mine are unknown for coal industry. Scientists do not know which gases are in the mine because they did not manage to get tests from mine. According to international scientists these are mixtures of heavy gases.
PM has noted that it is necessary to develop science in Ukraine and change attitude to issues on Labour protection and parameters of finances allocated to solution of these issues.
Yanukovych informed that reformation of coal industry would be carried out by Coal Ministry Serhy Tulub. “It is obvious that the main priority must be people’s life."
As a reminder, since November 18, 3 gas explosions had happened at the coalmine named after A. Zasyadko in Donetsk region. The blasts happened as a result of blast of aeromethane mixture. Death toll is over 100 miners.
