President Viktor Yushchenko presented State Awards to scientists and public figures who contributed to Holodomor 1932-1933 history research, President's press office reports.
Levko Lukyanenko a significant Ukrainian political and public figure was presented the V Degree Order of Yaroslav the Wise.
Other recipients were presented different National Awards including orders "For Merit" of first, second and third degree.
Viktor Yushchenko thanked the recipients for their intellectual and spiritual contribution to the restoration of truth about this tragedy. “Thanks to all of you, to your conscience, to your personal history, to your work Ukrainian society now knows more about Holodomor 1932-1933”, he said.
