Prices for housing and communal services in 2008 will not be increased. Minister of Housing and Communal Services Olexander Popov stated at a press conference in Kherson Sunday.
“There are no objective reasons for the prices growth for housing and communal services in Ukraine,” he said. According to him, the urgency of prices growth for housing and communal services is the problem of the previous year.
“We are absolutely sure that we'll have a normal transition for the autumn-winter period and no abnormalities in winter," the Minister said. He noted that according to the data, which the Ministry receives from the regions, all the houses covered by the communal heating systems will receive heating simultaneously.
He has emphasized that the Ministry holds the situation under control. "We know which problems exist in every one of the regions, and some of them have to be settled at the Ministry level. We are providing financial and organizational support to 28 regions. These problems will be solved by the start of the heating season," the Minister of Housing and Communal Services said.
