President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko has suspicion concerning institutions and forces, which initiate any privatization processes today. He stated at the press conference in the Secretariat, ForUm’s correspondent reports.
Yushchenko is assured that the acting legislation and the present State Property Fund can not hold impartial, objective, truly competitive and lawful privatization.
“I am deeply convinced this Government and the State Property Fund cannot stage an impartial, objective, truly competitive and lawful privatization. Under such circumstances, when the Government seeks to sell everything before the elections and the State Property Fund is unable to adhere to market principles, when staging privatizations, I believe it is necessary not to hold such auctions in this difficult political period,” Yushchenko said.
Yushchenko criticized the Government and the State Property Fund for selling Luganskteplovoz, calling that auction a “stain on Ukraine’s economic history”.
