Direct damages, suffered by farmer in view of drought are evaluated at 1 bn UAH, Deputy Agrarian Policy Minister Yuriy Luzan said, according to Cabinet press office.
According to him, Ukraine faced a varying whether, from a sever drought to heavy rains. Luzan states that the drought caused damages at 1,1 M. ha.
The drought engulfed one third of agriculture lands.
Experts predict the 2007 crop at 27 to 33 M. tons, against 34.3 M. ton in 2006.
