The commissar of the EU for External Relations and European Policy of Neighborhood Benita Ferrero-Waldner notes the question on the Ukrainian membership in the EU is still open, but this is the question of the future.
“This question may be discussed, but only in the future. It is still open,” the commissar told.
She understands the disappointment of Ukrainian people, when they hear that the European Policy of Neighborhood does not foresees the future Ukrainian membership. “But the politician should be fair and I’m fair in that question,” Benita Ferrero-Waldner noted.
She told that Ukraine should do a lot. “Use the time that you have. I told your President and your Prime Minister, if you want more, you will get it,” emphasized the commissar of the EU.
