The Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych held a working meeting with Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the EU member states to Ukraine on May 15, Cabinet press office reported.

During the meeting the sides have discussed the bilateral Ukraine-EU relations and the political situation in Ukraine.

As the Head of Ukrainian Government noted, it is important that snap election, if it is to be called, be held with clear adherence to the norms of legislation. “It is of fundamental importance for the Government to hold elections within the legal field,” the Prime Minister stressed.

At that Viktor Yanukovych noted that with the purpose of holding fair and transparent elections the Working Group is to elaborate a series of bills and submit them for the Verkhovna Rada’s approval.

“Single legal rules are necessary for holding pre-term and regular elections. These rules are to be in force today and in the future,” the PM emphasized.

Viktor Yanukovych said that in spite of the unstable political situation in Ukraine, the economy retains high rates f growth. According to him, the Government intends to implement a fundamental program of reforms, the presentation of which will take place in the nearest future.

Besides, Viktor Yanukovych emphasized invariability of foreign policy priorities of Ukraine.
