The decoration was handed to Tymoshenko by the founder of the order Patrick Wiseman in Sorbonne University. He noted that the magazine honored Tymoshenko’s contribution to development of democracy in Ukraine. According to him, last time the decoration was given to Pope Ioanne Pavel II in 2004.
Tymoshenko noted that a real victory for her is independent and free European Ukraine.
The same day BYuT leader met with France’s senate chairman Christian Poncelle and culture minister Renau Donerdieu de Varb. After the meeting Tymoshenko told journalists that French officials confirmed that Ukraine was an important partner for the EU and France.
Tymoshenko started the visit to France on March 27.
