The Ministry of international development of Great Britain stops realization of program “Democratization of Ukraine”. Director of British council in Ukraine Terry Sandell told in Kyiv.

“This is a good signal for Ukraine as it stopped to be a country with low profit rate. You can find the way out by your own. Ukrainians help Ukraine to move ahead,” Sandell noted.

He reminded that the program “Democratization of Ukraine” became to be realized during the beginning of “the orange revolution” in 2003. About three million pounds were allocated for “development of democratization”, in particular for support of election Committee of Ukraine and independent Center of political investigations.

“Stop of the given program does not mean we lost interest to Ukraine. Ukraine can get necessary funds via the EU and Brussels,” the British Ambassador to Ukraine Timothy Barrow said.
