This year the Naval Forces of Ukraine allocated funds for armaments and technical equipment four times more than last year. The Defense Minister Anatoly Hrytsenko told the journalists.
“This year significant funds are planned for technical reconstruction of ships and development of project “Corvette”, the Minister said.
According to him, in 2007 project draft is planned to be finished and in 2008 technical part will be completed.
Hrytsenko said that negotiations on the construction are held with several countries among which are Italy, the Netherlands, France and Russia.
Hrytsenko noted that “Corvette will become basic ship for Naval Forces of Ukraine.
