2006 was economically complicated for Ukraine. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych told at the first session of the Council of regions development, the ForUm’s correspondent reports.
“Starting points in 2005 were difficult and the former Government worked under complicated conditions,” he said.
According to Yanukovych, “just because of it we have such complicated budget deficit – approximately UAH 8 milliard, which was necessary to overcome.”
“We set a task to liquidate this deficit by the end of the current year and today’s economy growth assists in it,” the Prime Minister noted.
Yanukovych understands all responsibility before the Ukrainian people concerning provision of worthy social standards. “We must fight to poverty and it is a priority of the executive power, the Parliament and the President,” he said.
The Prime Minister underlined that “one shouldn’t “help” us or interfere –it is better to assist in.”
“It is very important all branches of the power to work together,” Yanukovych said.
