Pyatnytsky noted that a new agreement provides for significant quotas extension for import of metallurgical production to EU’s countries, gradual automatic quotas expansion and transfer of unused quotas of one year to another.
“All negotiations were carried out with metallurgists association in proper contact with industry. That’s why there is a complex decision that meets our industry,” the Economy Minister of Ukraine said.
He also noted that if Ukraine becomes a member of the WTO in the middle of 2007, there will be no necessity of such agreement with the EU.
