In the instruction, addressed to heads of diplomatic and consular representative offices of Ukraine abroad and officials of Foreign Ministry of Ukraine, Tarasyuk reminds Constitution of Ukraine, according to which the state language of Ukraine is Ukrainian.
“Deliberate neglect of this regulation in everyday activity of all workers of diplomatic corps will be treated as lack of correspondence to a work status. I ask to conduct a corresponding talk with subdivisions’ collectives and officials of representative offices abroad, including their families. I ask to inform personnel department about cases of non-compliance with the regulations immediately,” the document says, “Novy Region” reported.
The minister allowed “to be unfaithful” to the native language only in case of official negotiations with foreigners.
