System Capital Management (SCM) owned by Rinat Akhmetov has got licensed by Ukraine’s Anti-Monopoly Committee (AKMU) to acquire over 50% of Leman-Ukraine Ltd chartered capital. The bargain procedure is to be completed by the end of May, 2006, SCM press office informed.
“We are aimed at creation of vertically-integrated chain of our mining and smelting business possessed the strong position in each unit of this chain. The development strategy provides for increase of metal production sale effectiveness on external and internal markets. Leman-Ukraine is the leader of sale production within the national market and we expect that the merger with SCM will consolidate our position here,” said Director General Metinvest Holding Ihor Syryi.
