In an interview with the Kharkiv Oblast Television Company, Victor Yushchenko said Ukraine’s new parliament would only function effectively if it learned to uphold key principles of our country’s domestic and foreign policy.

The President said most opinions of some members of this parliament “do not correspond to national interests.”

“They oppose some priorities of the country and, I think, too often lean on the other capital. They must have forgotten that the capital of Ukraine is Kyiv,” he said and then urged Ukrainians to responsibly vote on March 26, the president press service reported.

“I will vote for the democratic force I trust, the force I am responsible for and that is also directly responsible for the choice the Maidan in Kyiv and Kharkiv made. But I would like to say that I will still respect your choice, but we must be aware of our responsibility,” he said.
