On March 9, 2006 Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Borys Tarasyuk met with the US Vice President Richard Cheney, MFA press office informed. During the meeting Mr. Cheney stated that "the United States of America will support the government of Ukraine in implementation of the course to conduct of internal reforms and integration into the European and Euro-Atlantic institutions later on”.
In the course of the conversation the interlocutors discussed series of urgent issues of the Ukrainian – American relations and the ways of further charging of strategic partnership between Ukraine and the USA with practical matter.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine demonstrated satisfaction with final settlement of the most important problem questions which were on the agenda of the Ukrainian – American relations and emphasized that the Ukrainian side is ready to further intensification of political, commercial and economical relations with the USA.
For his part Mr Cheney demonstrated readiness of his country to render Ukraine further assistance in implementation of the priority tasks of its foreign policy.
