Victor Yushchenko appointed Evgen Chervonenko, former Minister of Transport and Communication in Tymoshenko’s government, Head of Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration.

The text of the decree was announced by the President’s press office December 9.

Commenting on this appointment, Anatoly Matvienko, former PM of Crimea and presently the deputy Chief of President’s Secretariat, noted that Chervonenko’s candidature had been supported not only by political forces, but also by the business circles of the regions.

“I think we should judge not the fact of appointment, but results of his activity. I reckon there are no grounds to consider his future work ineffective,” told Matvienko during today’s press conference, ForUm’s correspondent reported.
