At a press conference following the Ninth Ukraine – EU Summit, Victor Yushchenko said Ukraine had been recognized as a country with market economy status, and added that this was the greatest achievement of the summit.
“Our new status will change fundamentals of our relations in anti-dumping investigations, customs tariffs, duties, and so forth,” he said.
The President noted that today Ukraine and the EU “switched their relations to a qualitatively different mode.” Head of State said we would need a few months to observe all procedures to legalize our new market status.
