During several private meetings with President Victor Yushchenko we agreed to work toward visa issuance simplification, President Vladimir Putin of Russia said in his live TV appearance. Yushchenko's stand is very tough and consistent. It's a real shame to me, but it was Yushchenko who raised these matters.
It's really a pity when two closely affined nations are parted. We will definitely come back to this issue and try to solve it and thus enable Russians and Ukrainians to freely move within the CIS boundaries, Vladimir Putin stressed.
The President of Russia reminded that Ukrainians, entering Russia, may stay unregistered for a long time. We will continue considering this matter, Putin said. According to him, the success will depend upon both parties, but Russia is ready to solve this problem now.
According to Vladimir Putin, CIS citizens will be able to easily get work permits in Russia without being granted Russian citizenship.
