Victor Yushchenko spoke with President Alexandr Lukashenko of Belarus to discuss ways to activate economic cooperation between the two countries, solve problems over delimitation and demarcation of state borders, improve transportation routes and re-equip customhouses. They also discussed ways to create a free trade zone between the states. The sides analyzed a range of signed agreements which had not been implemented yet.
Yushchenko and Lukashenkoalso touched on the subject of Polish-Belarusian relations. The Head of State said he was ready to be a mediator to settle the existing conflict.
