Police officials found more than 200 poppy bushes and about 150 bushes of hemp in a vegetable garden in Kharkov region.
The 60-year-old plantation’s owner said to officials that he cultivated poppy for poppy seeds and then gave it to friends.
As the gardener said, he planted the hemp to frighten plant pests away.
Totally officials withdrew about 120 kg of dry poppy bushes and five kg of hemp leaves. In case the experts establish drugs can be produced of poppy, the criminal case will be instituted against the owner of poppy-hempen plantation.
