Ukraine is worried by the arrest of Ukrainian citizens in Minsk  The deputy chief of the press-service of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmitry Svistkov, reported that representatives of the Ukrainian Embassy in Byelorussia are not allowed to visit the detained.

"The fact that representatives of Ukrainian Embassy in Byelorussia are not allowed to visit the arrested Ukrainian citizens contradicts the regulations of Viennese convention about consular relationships of 1963," pointed out Svistkov.

In connection with this situation Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent a note to Byelorussian Embassy in Ukraine.

In its turn, Ukrainian Embassy in Byelorussia makes necessary arrangements to defend the rights and interests of the Ukrainian citizens and to release them from custody. Ukrainian ambassador conducts negotiations with representatives of Byelorussian law machinery to get permission to meet with the arrested Ukrainians.

According to Svistkov, this case is controlled by the minister of Foreign Affairs, Boris Tarasuk, personally.
