Ukraine expects practical and clear results from the EU summit, foreign minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Last week I was in Brussels. My visit was devoted to preparation for the summit. This week European Commissioner Stefan Füle arrives in Ukraine to help our country to prepare for the Ukraine - EU summit. We expect practical and clear results after the summit, including the association agreement and implementation of reforms in Ukraine," he noted.

According to the minister, issues on visa liberalization will be considered during the summit. "We expect that an agreement between Ukraine and the EU on visa regime will come into force soon. Ukraine is now at the final stage of implementation of the first phase of the action plan on visa liberalization," Kozhara stressed and expressed hope that the first phase will be completed by the end of the year.

He added that issues on Ukraine’s interaction and implementation of European Union programs will be discussed during the summit as well. "For example, the issue on the preparation for reconstruction of the Urengoy–Pomary–Uzhgorod pipeline was discussed last week in Brussels, and the European side agreed to accelerate granting loans for this purpose in the amount of 308 million euro," he said.

According to Kozhara, the Eastern Partnership summit will be held in the yearend, and Ukraine intends to sign an association agreement with the EU.
