Wage arrears before July 1, 2013 throughout the country should not exceed 613 million UAH, social policy minister of Ukraine Natalia Korolevska said during a conference call, ForUm correspondent reports.

"On April 1, wage arrears decreased by only 33 million UAH (3%). According to the operative data, as of May 13 the debt was 1 billion 145 million UAH, and according to the schedules (which were approved in April - Ed.), they had to make up 812 million," she said.

According to the minister, to date, only four regions perform wage arrears repayment schedule: Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Cherkasy and Chernivtsi regions.

Korolevska also pointed out that in the structure of the arrears, debt of economically active enterprises makes up 565 million UAH, debt of economically inactive ones - 507 million UAH, debt of bankrupt companies - 424 million UAH. In addition, 450 million UAH (43% of the total debt in the country) are the debts of public enterprises.

Talking about the regional context of debt, Korolevska noted that top-five does not change.
"Wage arrears in Donetsk region is 217 million, Kyiv region - 127 million, Kharkiv region - 89 million, Kyiv - 71million and Lviv region - 57 million UAH," the minister explained.

She stressed that by July 1, 2013, the amount owed must fully comply with schedules submitted from the regions and approved by the Ministry, and make up 613 million UAH.
