Stability of the hryvnia exchange rate depends on reaching a compromise in Parliament, ex-deputy chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine, rector of International Business Institute Oleksandr Savchenko said at the press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Rate now almost depends on the actions of politicians. If a compromise is reached in our Parliament, the rate will certainly stabilize. If a compromise is reached today, it will be stabilized at the level of 9 UAH/$. If after a week, the rate may be 9.2 and 9.3, or 8.9 UAH/$. But it will become fixed at the moment of reaching a compromise," Savchenko said.
In the future, he said , everything will depend on who will be the prime minister, the NBU governor, as well as on the kind of monetary or economic program they will declare and what reforms will be carried out and whether the Association Agreement with EU will be signed.
