The National Bank carries out constant monitoring of situation on the currency market and may soon begin to fight against speculation, executive director of the Independent Association of Ukrainian Banks Serhiy Mamedov said in comments to BTB channel.
He noted that today some operators of the currency market try to earn on currency trade, using psychological stress due to political instability. At the same time, there are no objective economic reasons for the rise in the exchange rate. "The task of the National Bank is to stop speculations," Mamedov said.
The banker said that the National Bank is closely monitoring activities of the currency market’s operators and can assess the nature of their operations.
