Given the recent events in Ukraine, the country does not face a sudden stop of foreign direct investment, economist Viktor Lysytsky said during a press conference "Sudden stop" in the economy," ForUm correspondent reports.

He explained that the term "sudden stop" has to be considered not as a stop of the economy in general but as a stop of flow of foreign direct investment into the country.

"Is it possible to have a sudden stop of foreign direct investment? I think it is not if we take into account the current political situation, because European, American and Russian businesses are interested in cooperation with us," Lysytsky said.

He noted that although there is an element of mistrust, but there are no obvious reasons for refusal of cooperation with Ukrainian business.
