FM indignant at German’s "provocative statements"

Ukraine's Foreign Ministry calls on Germany to refrain from provocative statements regarding the imposition of sanctions against the Ukrainian authorities, the Ministry’s press office informs.

Today, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry invited Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany to Kyiv Mr. Christoph Weil to discuss the statement, made by German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

In particular, at the meeting, Ukrainian deputy foreign minister Andriy Olefirova noted "the need for an objective assessment of internal political processes in our country and abstention from provocative statements".

The Foreign Ministry also expressed the hope that Germany will take "constructive impartial position", which is important for the successful settlement of the current situation in Ukraine.
