Ukraine’s Antimonopoly Committee has held a briefing led  by Rafael Kuzmin, First Deputy Chairman of AMCU, on results of the Committee activities in 2013. During the briefing, Rafael Kuzmin informed the public on results and achievements of the Committee in 2013, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informs.

The competition law in Ukraine is developing at the level of the best international practice. The AMCU results in 2013 include recognition of leading experts in the field of competition law, growth of socio-economic influence, and improved efficiency of low-competition markets.

The main directions of the day-to-day activities of AMCU experts including development of competition and consumer/business protection from anti-competitive behavior were highly appreciated by international experts. The document adopted at 13th session of Intergovernmental Expert Group on Competition Law and Policy at United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) says that Ukraine made significant progress in development of competition law. Experience of Ukraine was recognized as the most significant in the modern world and, according to representatives of international community, it is an example of creating a competition-protection system under very unfavorable circumstances in just two decades.

In general, it can be noted that Ukraine established the integral system of legal and organizational mechanisms for antimonopoly activity which is in line with modern EU and international standards.
