Today, the government has to ensure timely payment of wages and uninterrupted work of all life-support systems of the country, acting Prime Minister, First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov said at today's Cabinet’s meeting.
Arbuzov noted that for 20 days in January of 2014 the wage arrears in the whole country decreased by 23 million UAH or by 3%. At the same time, the wage arrears increased in some regions: "In particular, in Kyiv – by 13.5 million UAH, Volyn region – by 1.1 million UAH, Ivano-Frankivsk and Vinnytsa regions - by 0,3 and 0.5 million UAH respectively."
The acting Prime Minister stressed that the local executive authorities should analyze the reasons of debt growth, ensure its radical reduction and then report the Cabinet of Ministers on taken actions.
Arbuzov also drew attention to the need of accurate work of life support systems of the country, especially in the winter.
