Seizure of the building of the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine by participants of the mass protest is equal to seizure of a hospital, where doctors must treat patients, do their duty, minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk said.
According to him, it is necessary to move away from emotions and to allow employees of the Ministry to ensure food security, especially in such a difficult humanitarian situation.
Prysiazhniuk urged the rally organizers to provide employees with access to the captured Ministry to perform their direct functions – promote agricultural production and ensure food security of the country.
"Unfortunately, the seizure of the Agrarian Policy Ministry demonstrates that the opposition leaders have lost control over the actions of the protesters. Just as they do not take responsibility for the spontaneous seizure of state bodies, they won’t take responsibility for the food situation in the country," agrarian policy minister said.
Earlier in the night, January 24, protesters occupied the building of the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry in 24 Khreshchatyk Street.
