If the protesters in Kyiv cease to resist, prosecutors will request preventive measure not related to the arrest, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine informs.
"If radical individuals cease violence, arson, looting, resistance to law enforcement and free the Hrushevsky Street, the prosecutors will request the courts to change the measure of restraint for a softer one to already arrested persons," statement says.
Prosecutor General’s Office noted that the longer confrontation is, the more offenses are carried out, the more criminal cases are being registered in the unified register of pre-trial investigations, the more people fall into the pre-trial detention for a flagrant violation of the laws.
The press service stressed that as of today the law enforcement agencies arrested 71 people for their participation and organization of mass riots in Hrushevsky Street. Among them - the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for 36 persons. Consideration of other court cases is scheduled for the next few days, and hundreds of people are wanted.
