President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych proposes Verkhovna Rada chairman Volodymyr Rybak to consider the situation in the country at an extraordinary session of Parliament.

The Head of State said this during a meeting with Rybak, the President’s press office reports.
"You know that riots, which have been occurring recently, are accompanied by violence, bloodshed, arson. That is, the situation demands immediate settlement," the President said.

"I would ask you to encourage deputies to gather and discuss the situation," he stressed.

President believes that the Parliament should become a platform for settling the continuing political crisis.

"The negotiations, which I hold with the opposition is the one part of a settlement of the political crisis. The second part is transferring of discussion to parliamentary platform. Proposals, which will be worked out during my talks and in preparation for the session should be considered in Parliament," Yanukovych said.

He stressed the need to continue the work of the Parliament, despite the deputies’ vacations.
