Use of firearms by police officers during clashes in the Hrushevsky Street would be illogical and tactically wrong, police colonel-general, who served in 2007 as head of the Interior Ministry, Mykhailo Korniyenko told ForUm correspondent.

According to him, he personally talked to law enforcement officers near the Dynamo stadium and analyzed the video. "The police officers assured me that they do not have firearms. They have pump-action shotguns. This is traumatic weapon, it should stop but not kill."

Furthermore, Korniyenko reminded that the Hrushevsky Street is screened with smoke, so the visibility is limited. "If we assess the situation logically and tactically then the firearms can not be applied," he said.
