Prasolov: Cooperation with Russia to raise competitiveness of Ukrainian economy

Implementation of joint Ukrainian-Russian projects will allow to effectively use innovation in the Ukrainian economy, which will increase its competitiveness, promote economic growth and attract scientific resources into production, economic development and trade minister of Ukraine Ihor Prasolov said in interview with the BTB channel.

"These projects are important for the further development of Ukraine to improve the country's competitiveness and to improve ultimately the standard of living of our people," he said.

The minister noted that at present 23 major projects are agreed between Ukraine and Russia in the important high-tech industries, including aviation, nuclear power, shipbuilding, aerospace industry, communication.

"The total preliminary project cost is about $ 56.4 billion. Thus, Ukraine could annually receive up to $ 8 billion of Russian investment in projects in priority sectors of the economy. Another important thing is that the implementation of these projects starts in 2014," the minister said.
