Self-defense units on Maidan are being armed, the Interior Ministry press office informs.
"Commandants of the so-called EuroMaidan, opposition lawmakers, arm the "self-defense units". On their initiative the aggressively minded people are given two-meter wooden poles with metal tips.
Poles are cold dangerous weapon, which they are going to use against law enforcement officers," report says.
The police note that the MPs, hiding behind their immunity, actually incite people to commit crimes.
"The Criminal Code qualifies actions as the creation of extralegal paramilitary or armed groups (Article 260) and organization of mass riots (Article 294) and defines them as accomplices in these crimes," the Interior Ministry informs.
Police once again urges citizens to stop the confrontation, not to commit crimes and to keep public order.
