The Cabinet has announced plans to improve the terms of leasing for agricultural machinery via NAC Ukragroleasing in 2014. It was discussed during a progress meeting regarding development and implementation of investment projects aimed to develop agricultural machine building. During the meeting, progress of various tasks (envisioned in the State Program of Active Economic Development for 2013-2014) has been reviewed, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informs.

"Ukraine has prospects of increasing the grain yield up to 80 million tons. However, a major upgrade is necessary to implement such significant potential. Especially, for small and medium-sized farmers. But this requires significant financial resources. So, last year, the government started the effort to facilitate participation of farmers in leasing programs for purchase of machinery. In particular, mechanism of financial leasing through NAC Ukragroleasing is being improved," said Mykola Prisyazhnyuk, Ukraine's Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.

The minister noted that intensive work is ongoing to facilitate the terms for leasing the agricultural machinery and equipment. Last year, Ukragroleasing supplied the farmers with machinery and equipment for nearly 87 million UAH, which is 20 million more than in 2012.

The minister said 14,000 machines were added to the fleet of agricultural machinery in Ukraine in 2013. In particular, nearly 4,000 tractors, over 1,000 grain combine harvesters, over 2,000 tilling and 1,400 seeding machines.

The government also intends to intensify the efforts to upgrade the agricultural fleet by accelerating serial production of domestic combine harvesters. During the meeting, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov gave several instructions on the issue.
