If the opposition blocks work of the Verkhovna Rada during adoption of the state budget for 2014, the main financial document will be adopted without discussion.
"I want the budget to be adopted according to the regulations, after the discussion. However, if the opposition obstructs the process, then the bill will be voted for as a whole. If we have no other chance to adopt the budget, we will vote this way," Parliament’s speaker told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to him, the parliamentary majority is ready to consider and adopt the budget on January 16. "Of course, in Ukraine there were cases when the budget was not approved in January. However, the state budget for 2014 has been increased, raising salaries and pensions by 10%. Therefore, I think that the budget will still be adopted this week," the speaker said.
