Holy Father Pope Francis expressed his prayerful support to the Ukrainian people. According to the press office of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Archbishop Thomas Edward Gullickson, Apostolic Nuncio in Ukraine, announced this to Patriarch Sviatoslav (Shevchuk), head of the UGCC.
In his letter to the Primate of the UGCC, the representative of the Holy See in Ukraine, in particular, noted that having received the news about situation in Ukraine, Father Francis assured the Ukrainian people in his prayerful support. "Pope Francis prays for peace and harmony for the Ukrainian people," the letter from the Vatican reads.
As a reminder, 25 November 2013, Pope Francis met with Ukrainian believers in Rome.
