Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said the country's program of industrial cooperation with Russia has to get into full swing from February.

"What needs to be done quickly? First of all, starting in February we have to launch at full capacity the program of industrial cooperation with Russia that will give us in the coming years hundreds of thousands of jobs and guarantees for budgets of all levels, which will be a financial base for the development of our domestic market," Azarov said, opening a government meeting on Thursday.

"Also, it's necessary to ensure that a free trade zone operates between the countries of the CIS - the importance of which to our economy is hard to overestimate," Azarov said.

He said that "deputy Prime Minister Yuriy Boiko is personally responsible for that."

"The cost of these programs is tens of billions of dollars, or even more. This is the future of the main branches of our industry," Azarov said.
