Rivne Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) Unit 4 is back online from maintenance, which was started on January 3 when defects of separator-superheater fittings were detected. As of 08:00 hrs on January 8, two units are in operation at Rovno NPP with a total load of 1,375 MW, which is approximately 16% of the electricity produced by nuclear power plants in Ukraine, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informs.

After restarting the unit, the radiological, fire and environmental parameters at RNPP are within the normal range.

According to the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine (SNRIU), as of January 8, 13 of 15 units at the 4 active Ukrainian nuclear power plants are in operation. Zaporizhzhya NPP Unit 2 is under a medium scheduled maintenance, which will last through March 27.

Also, RNPP Unit 1 is still in back up mode because of dispatching restrictions. It will stay that way roughly through February. The restrictions at the power plant exist because of power line deficiency, causing NPP to operate at a fraction of capacity.

Rivne Nuclear Power Plant is located in the northwest of the Rivne region. RNPP operates 4 units with total capacity of 2,835 MW. This is the first nuclear power plant in Ukraine with pressurized water reactors (PWR), the only plant with a series of reactors VVER-440 (Project V-213).
