In Kharkiv, 8 people were killed and 22 – rescued due to fire at the Khartron plant, the State Service for Emergency Situations of Ukraine reports.
According to the report, the State Emergencies Service received a message about the fire at the Khartron plant in Kharkiv at 11.29 am, January 8. The fire broke out in a five-story industrial building rented by the Kharkiv jewelry factory.
The fire damaged the forth and fifth floors of the building on the area of 250 square meters. Rescuers managed to prevent the spread of fire to other floors of the building.
At 12.40 the fire was localized, its elimination is going on now. 20 units of basic and special equipment of the Main Department of the State Service for Emergency Situations of Ukraine in Kharkiv region were involved to extinguish the fire.
