A student of one of Kyiv's universities was beaten up and sprayed with green antiseptic at the Independence Square, where an indefinite campaign of supporters of the European integration of Ukraine was taking place.
The protesters took the student for a provocateur, the Shevchenkivsky district branch of Kyiv police said.
After the incident, which occurred on Tuesday afternoon, the student called the 102 police line and reported the incident.
The young man explained to the police that he had a conflict with unknown persons, which after a verbal exchange turned into a fight, Interfax-Ukraine informed.
At the same time, the student refused to write a police statement.
