At the year-end, the banking system of Ukraine showed steadiness, ForUm learnt from the NBU press office.
"Even in difficult conditions of the year-end, the banking sector continued to work steadily," the report says.
According to the NBU report, the stable operation of the system was not affected by information war against the National Bank and banks of Ukraine.
According to the National Bank, a certain reduction of funds in the individual accounts in the first three weeks of December was fully offset by a significant increase in deposits in the last week, which amounted to 7 billion UAH, of which 6 billion - in the national currency. Since the beginning of December (as of December 30) individual deposits increased by 1.2 billion UAH.
NBU added that deposits grew rapidly as soon as it became known of the arrangements between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia in the last week of December.
