Heating tariffs for public sector to be reduced by quarter

Since 1 February 2014, the heating costs for kindergartens, hospitals and other public sector institutions will be reduced by an average of 25%. This was announced by press office of the National Commission of the State Public Utilities Regulation, with reference to the commission’s chairman Valery Saratov.

As the National Commission notes, people pay 728 UAH for 1 thousand cubic meters with the annual consumption of up to 2.5 thousand cubic meters. If the consumption is larger than 2.5 thousand cubic meters, people pay 1091 UAH per 1 thousand cubic meters. At the same time, the average price per thousand cubic meters for district heating providers is 1309 UAH.

Now the National Commission of the State Public Utilities Regulation recalculates heating tariffs for public sector customers. It is expected that appropriate solutions on tariff cuts will be adopted at the extraordinary meeting of the Commission 31 December 2013.
