President Viktor Yanukovych hopes that the state budget for 2014 will be passed on January 16, 2014.
The President noted that for the first time for many years, Ukraine celebrates the New Year without a budget, and this is unacceptable for civilized countries. "It happened so that the Parliament was inactive as the opposition blocked the rostrum. I have already cited the example of Kyiv, I do not even know what to call it, it’s difficult to find words. Of course, all the causes are known," he said.
The President expressed the hope that the budget will be passed on 16 January 2014.
Yanukovych noted that the budget is positioned as the budget of social protection and economic development. "I fully support this approach. At the same time, there’s an obvious need for the development of the second stage of modernization reforms that would define the long-term goals and perspectives. I would suggest the detailed presentation of the objectives and tasks of the second stage at the beginning of next year," he stressed.
