Ukrainian arrangements with Russia enable innovational upgrade and modernization of the economy. It was stated by the President at the meeting of the Council of Regions.
"My principled position: new relations with Russia are the condition and the requirement to our internal transformations. One shouldn't wait for a miracle. We must use these opportunities and find the most efficient ways to use them. These arrangements will create thousands of new jobs, provide new contracts for enterprises and facilitate innovational upgrade," the Head of State emphasized.
The President explained that the "acceleration" of negotiations with Russia had been caused by significant complication of bilateral trade-economic relations. "This period cannot be measured in months. It has begun several years ago and in recent months it has significantly exacerbated. That's why we had to accelerate our negotiations with Russia," the President noted.
According to him, Ukraine has received a set of extremely necessary agreements only due to the understanding, political will and steps forward of the Russian government. "We have been moving towards such conditions for 4 years overcoming the so-called heritage of Tymoshenko's contract," Viktor Yanukovych said.
"The arrangements achieved with Russia on the new moderate gas price and 15 billion USD loan not only protect the financial system of Ukraine from possible turmoil, but also lay the conditions for the beginning of the new stage of economic growth for our commodity producers," the Head of State stressed.
According to the President, these arrangements provide an opportunity to plan a stable industrial development and modernization, increase the competiveness of Ukrainian goods and create new jobs.
