President requires immediate lowering of gas price for consumers

The President instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to make respective decisions on gradual lowering of gas price for consumers.

"I would like to ask you, Mykola Yanovych, to make respective decisions with the National Commission for Energy Regulation on gradual lowering of gas price for our consumers. Our producers and consumers must feel it starting from January 1," the President said at the meeting of the Council of Regions.

"I clearly understand that the gas in our storages has been purchased for the old price. It must be gradually used and mixed with the new price. You must complete this work and ensure the transparency of the given issue," Viktor Yanukovych added.
