Reduced price for imported gas means lower tariffs, but does not negate the necessity of modernization and introduction of energy saving technologies, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said at the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
"The new price for Russian gas means that there are more opportunities for socially vulnerable segments of the population. The cost of heating kindergartens and hospitals will also decrease. The main thing is that we have new opportunities to upgrade facilities in the heat, energy and utility industry," he said.
The Prime Minister stressed that gas prices cuts do not give a "green light" for its reckless use.
